The Open Security Content Automation Protocol (OSCAP) provides a standardized framework for automating vulnerability assessment, configuration management, and compliance verification. SCAP Components

SCAP integrates multiple security automation standards including the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) enumeration, Common Configuration Enumeration (CCE) for configuration issues, and the Common Platform Enumeration (CPE) for system identification. The Extensible Configuration Checklist Description Format (XCCDF) defines security checklists and benchmarks in a standardized format.
